last week my friend cass and i made a trip to El Santuario de Atotonilco, the sistine chapel of americas. i took a few photographs with my pinhole camera, haven’t developed the film yet….please keep your fingers crossed that there will be something to share. atotonilco plays such an important role beginning the Holy Week celebrations:
every year– two weeks before easter sunday, the statue of Our Lord of The Column is carried in a solemn midnight procession from atotonilco to san miguel de allende —about ten kilometers. the beloved miraculous statue will remain in san miguel until Holy Week observances are finished. cass and i have been contemplating to experience this torchlit procession….
